Karachi, Pakistan — September 2026 — Oak Business Consultant sponsored a community outreach and relief distribution activity in a village in rural Sindh on Saturday, 30 August 2026. The activity was hosted by the NGO Global Helpline, with OAK Mizaaj and Noshaba Pure also collaborating. The four-hour visit combined direct household support with an on-the-ground review of local agricultural conditions. It was carried out in line with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting Oak’s continued commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Bringing Relief Directly to Families
Between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., the visiting team was welcomed at the settlement by residents and children. The team then sat down with families to share tea and hear their concerns firsthand. Women and elderly residents took an active part in the conversation, setting the tone for a visit built on dialogue rather than a one-way handout.
The team then distributed ration packs, clothing, milk and drinking water. Distribution ran from two handover points within the settlement, so households farther from the entrance were not left out. Ration and clothing packs were given directly to the women of each household. Milk and water went to children and families, with no charge or condition attached to any item.
A Look at Local Livelihoods
Beyond the distribution, the team walked the surrounding farmland with a local grower. They reviewed the cultivation underway, from trellised bitter gourd and a productive papaya orchard to freshly planted ridge rows. The visit also included an inspection of the area’s furrow-and-ridge irrigation system. The system was found to be intact and reaching the full length of the fields.
